Tier app is becoming increasingly influential in retailers in South Africa.

Tier, the Advanced project’s simple payment and remittance platform, utilizes fintech and blockchain technology to apply a simple payment system using cryptocurrency in addition to traditional cash and card payments, and provides cross-border remittance services through the digital points, ‘en-Cash’.

The Tier app was launched in June 2021 and is being used directly by African retailers such as PEP, Ackermans, Shoprite, Massmart, Dion Wired, Makro, Builders Warehouse, and Game, which use NedBank’s payment network through account linkage with NedBank Group, Africa’s largest banking group.

In addition, eco-partnerships of the Advanced project with large companies in Southeast Asia and Africa are currently underway, including Crick Group (South Africa’s largest fashion group with brands such as Kappa, Alpha Industries, Superga, and Sneaker King), Bidvest Group (Johannesburg Stock Exchange listed company. Trading and distribution group), Carnilinx (a large South African distribution group), OneSpark (a South African insurance services group), and others are increasingly utilizing Enova Foundation’s crypto assets, AUC and en-Cash, to purchase services through tiered apps and connect with B2B businesses.
