The phrase “financial inclusion” gets thrown around constantly in fintech circles, usually followed by vague promises about democratizing access. Advanced Project took a harder look at what inclusion actually requires, not just digital wallets and blockchain hype, but infrastructure that meets people where they are. That means cash deposit machines in areas without bank branches for those who deal exclusively in physical currency. It means mobile apps that work alongside USSD technology for basic phones. It means building credit histories for people who’ve been invisible to traditional systems, then using that data to unlock services they’ve never been able to access. Their Web 2.5 approach bridges the divide between regulated financial services and decentralized blockchain technology without forcing users to understand the technical complexities underneath. Someone sending a remittance through their Payment Railway doesn’t need to know about distributed ledgers or consensus mechanisms, they just need their money to arrive quickly and cheaply. Yet that same transaction benefits from blockchain’s immutability and transparency, while simultaneously contributing to their developing credit profile through big data analysis. The platform essentially translates between two financial languages, letting users interact with whichever makes sense for their immediate needs.
